I really got into online gambling and tried to chase my losses which blew out of proportion, $300 down, $500 down, $1000 down, before you knew it I was $100,000 down.
This was the money set aside for our kids future and I somehow managed to throw it away despite being a rational engineer working for a large and well respected organisation. I don't know why I did it but at that moment it seemed like the best thing to do which is a scary thought.
The first step to recovery is to put an appropriately responsible gambling limit on the account and go from there (maybe $100 max deposit a month as an example). Good luck to everybody and I hope that nobody makes the same mistake as I did.
Don't chase losses! Because more often than not the underdog will win in the seemingly 'safe' bets. There is no such thing as a safe bet.
