Troy's story
It all started innocently, playing poker with some friends. I thought I could outsmart them. I thought I could win. I was so sure. After all, I do have a senior role at my company.
Later I found I would go to the casino to play. The losses started to increase. I also had a sports betting account. I thought I could be systematic in my betting.
Now I am looking at selling the family home to cover debts. There is no system. No magic formula. I was trying to see a pattern in the randomness.
Predicting the unpredictable is a foolish endeavour. Ultimately, reflecting on and accepting the reality of the situation stopped my gambling.
